Reproductive Psychiatry
Psychiatry consists primarily of medication management, but may also offer talk therapy depending on availability and need. Worth noting, your OB-GYN or Primary Care provider may be in a position to prescribe certain medications to address acute mental health symptoms- talk with your doctor about options. If you find yourself in need of more specialized medication treatment, it is recommended that you seek out the care of a psychiatrist with expertise in reproductive or perinatal mental health.
